Questions And Answers

Why are files ranked just by their last modification time?

It is Synchrotron's aim to merely copy files that have been changed. Therefore, the last modification date is used. Even if the file sizes differ – therefore the files must be different – Synchrotron could not decide which one is newer and should be copied. To check whether the files differ by content, they both need to be opened and copied. This would escalate time and effort.

Where are the options for time zones and FAT file system inaccuracy, that were present in the previous version?

These options are enabled by default now. Synchrotron considers files as identical, which differ by last modification dates because of file system inaccuracy or time zones.

How does Synchrotron copy files to an FTP folder?

Synchrotron uses passive mode. It is not possible to change this setting at the moment, but it is planned for a future update.

Reading and synchronising FTP folders takes a long time. How can I speed up the process?

If you upload files to an FTP folder, whose contents you don't change by other means, you may want to activate the folder management option for for this folder in the project's settings. This prevents the folder from being searched for files every time.
